"Labour Ward Jan 1st/2nd 2018"

About: Princess Anne Hospital / Maternity care

I was privileged to be present at the birth of my Grandaughter on January 2nd. I have worked in the NHS for 30 years so I thought that I knew what to expect. We were on Labour ward for 23 hours during which time we met many members of the ward team. Every person from consultants, midwifes, receptionists and housekeepers was delightful. My daughter was treated with dignity and respect. we were all involved in every decision. Our every need was taken care of. The midwifes were charming, competent and caring.

When the NHS is under such stress this department is an example of how it could be even under the restraints.

Thank you everyone we will never forget you.
