I suffered a stroke (after working a night shift and 5 hours sleep) at approx 11.00am. My wife summoned an ambulance who quickly arrived and treated me "on the spot" in the ambulance.
I was then taken to the Northern General and after a wait spent the first night on a general ward ( a unique experience!) and then twelve days on a stroke unit.
I received excellent care and later physiothreapy and after discharge - leading to regain balance and walk again. I went back to work 10 weeks later.
