Attended today with my very nervous 16 year old son who is ADD and also suffers with anxiety, he needed 2 teeth removing which involved a general anaesthetic.
All the staff were lovely and accommodating, however the anaesthetist was far from it, she was quite rude and abrupt upon first meeting her, and didn’t have much patience.
We finally got into the room where the anaesthetic was to be administered, the nurses were trying to calm my very scared son down and make him feel at ease and distract him with a where’s wally book, “NO there’s no time for that! He’s too old anyway!” You either have the needle or the gas or we’ll have to move onto the next patient, are they ready? We’ve already pushed you to the front of the queue, she said abruptly I suggested some form of sedation but got shunned saying he would still have to have a “needle” needless to say we left without the procedure undertaken with a very upset boy.
