We called NHS 24 and were advised as it was a dog bite to go to A&E. As it was New Years Day I'd expected it to be busy which it was. The staff were all working flat out.
My daughter was seen by the triage nurse quickly and then had to wait to see another. She was called and the senior nurse practitioner cleaned and dressed her wound, issued her with a course of antibiotics and gave advice on what to look for in case the wound becomes infected and we were on our way within 2hrs.
Great fast service on one of the busiest days of the year. Thank you all at St John's A &E Livingston you are a credit to the NHS.
