"Really disappointed by what I witnessed"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

Went to visit a relative who is sick in the Gastrointestinal and Liver services department. Found her being abused and badly spoken about by two other patients who were laughing at her and talking about her. One of the patients boyfriend kept watching us and the patient and laughing alot like he was drunk and watching a pantomime. I went back to see my relative as she was crying and one of them said to another 'omg I was just going to say something that was on the tip of my tongue and I saw her coming' (Yes she was THAT rude) and they started laughing non stop.

Never experienced this in any other department at the Bolton Royal Hospital. Nurses should pay attention. Hate to know what goes on at night in that room because theyre always laughing at said patient even when we were there. I would call it borderling bullying and unfortunately the patient is not able to do anything. If the relevant department wish to contact me I'd happy to give feedback.

Nurses need to be patient with those with limited skills and treat patients very kindly because you dont know whats happening to a patient and how lonely they feel.
