"Surviving sepsis"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow

(as a service user),

My mum developed septic arthritis which rapidly developed into full blown sepsis over the course of a few days. She ended up on dialysis for 8 weeks and had to go to theatre twice. She has made a good recovery although she still has some renal impairment. We are very lucky to have her. We give thanks to the rapid response on her admission to the QEUH in Glasgow, and to the multidisiplinary teams who worked closely to fight this condition and aid her recovery.
