"Overnight catheter nurses"

About: Norwich Community Hospital

When I checked my partner first thing on 30/12 17 he had completely bypassed

his suprapubic catheter. He was soaked with urine and straining to pass fluid via his urethra. I called the overnight service knowing it was a shift change time and it would be unlikely that they would be able to come but hoped the Day team would come.

It is always an excellent service but they surpassed themselves today. The night nurse came very quickly and my partner is now comfortable and able to rest.

This service must have saved him many trips to A&E, which in his case always seems to involve an admisssion.

As a nurse I know how tired you are after a night shift on a ward. It must be worse when travelling around.

Thank you. Please pass my thanks to the district nurses.

Good Morning

Thank you so much for taking time to post your comment. We are glad to know that your partner has had the care and treatment you would wish for and indeed that it was dependable and prompt in such a time of need. Your comment has been highlighted to the Team Leaders to share with their staff.

Many thanks
