Big thank you to all the staff in UHCW. We experienced excellent care again towards our elderly mother today. We were in A & E for several hours, needed to wait for a bed to become available in SAU. So very busy, patients on trolleys in corridors, for hours. Still having Observation checks every hour, drinks offered, the staff are amazing. The abuse they have to deal with is terrible, yet their professionalism never wavers. So proud of our NHS staff. The only criticism I have is the design of the building, entrance/exit car park fees £9.60 every day is draining vulnerable people. The corridors are far too long, without seating, A & E too small, everyone can hear others conversations. None of this is the fault of the amazing staff.

Well done staff..what would we do without you 👍🏻

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Emergency Department at University Hospital.

Firstly I would like to apologise for the waits you faced when you came into our Emergency Department with your mother.

As you have said, our hospitals are extremely busy at present, and I was delighted to hear that despite this, your mother received excellent care during her time in the department, including having regular observation checks.

We appreciate all feedback, both negative and positive, as it helps us to better understand what is important to our patients and where we may need to improve. I will be passing on your feedback to our team in the Emergency Department so that they can thank the team who cared for your mother, but also to help make improvements in the areas that you identified.
