I went to Nsech on 09/12/2017 with shortness of breath and was treat very well in A&E where they picked up that I had a very slow heart rate & admitted me to ward 10. After having a heart scan I was told I had heart block & needed a pacemaker which was a shock but I obviously needed one. It was booked for a weeks time & in the meantime I was given an mri heart scan where they supposedly picked up a possible vsd. None of the doctors could make up their mind about what was going to happen next. Four different doctors told me the pacemaker was going ahead & one doctor told me that he thought the freeman should deal with me because I was more complex & that the hospital who does my pacemaker fitting would have to pay for it - what an absolutely appallling way to speak to a very poorly, stressed out patient. After being there for 11 days with no honest answers about the treatment I needed & having to continuously hound the doctors and nurses for answers I was eventually transferred to Freeman hospital on 20/12/2017.Thankfully they are more professional, not only did they find through their own heart tests that I had no sign of any vsd I was fitted with a pacemaker & was discharged home a mere 2 days later. I suggest the doctors at Nsech work with each more closely & all sing from the same hymn book & treat future patients with more care & compassion & also be able to read their own scan images so they do not upset poorly patients unnecessarily.
