"Continuity whilst visiting family"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Medicine (Wards 2,10,12 and 17)

(as a carer),

My husband has been treated for blood cancer at Haematology in Monklands. While visiting family, my husband was taken ill and cared for by medical staff here.

We called Haematology thereafter for some further advice and guidance and Deborah couldn’t have given us a better service. She personally called the lab over here where we are staying, advised them how urgent the bloods were, got them to check the results for specific markers and called us back with the results and the appropriate medical advice.

We couldn’t be more grateful to have a clear plan and timeframe to check improvement against whilst away from our usual team. A huge thanks to her from us.

Dear NHLfighter,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your very positive comments. I am delighted to hear that you were happy with the care and advise you received. To have the continuity of advise with a clear plan when not at home is most important and again I am delighted to hear that you had the opportunity to contact them whilst away.

I will share your comments with Deborah as she will be pleased to hear that her advise and guidance resulted in both you and your husband's experience being such a positive one.

I hope you both continue to have a lovely time with family over the festive period and wish you and your husband a healthy and happy new year.

Warmest Regards

Lynn
