"I could have done this at home rather..."

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

What I liked

nothing

What could be improved

alot of things like maybes listening to patients when they say something

Anything else?

i was taken into this hospital to be have my labour started off.. however i was told to come in to hospital at 6pm at night.. yet when i got in there the nurse was quite rude by saying that if people were to be started off they had to be there in the morning not at night

then when i was in 2nd stage labour i asked for more pain killers.. i was told that i wasnt allowed anything and i was in a serious lot of pain.. i was basically fobbed off by the midwife who was in charge of my care on m2 by saying my pains were " prosten pains " and that i should go and sit in the bath where they will calm down.. having had 2 other children before one naturally and the other with being started off i knew that this was not the case

finally got pethdine at 8pm at night.. yet it did nothing ...

at 9:55pm i asked my fiance to come to the toilet and low and behold i had my daughter in the toilet.. no midwives or anything even helped or would even listen to me when i was telling them that i was futher on than i said i was and i feel like i was let down by this hospital also the way i gave birth was extremely traumatic for both myself, my fiance and my daughter and i ended up with Post Natal Depression and i couldnt bond with my daughter the way i wanted to.. again i felt like i was basically robbed of my daughters first moments should have been happy ones.. and not experenced the way i had experenced them.Patient careRudeToiletsChildrenMidwifeDepressionAttentiveMaternity
