"URGENT HAEMATURIA APPOINTMENT AT RHH"

I have been a nurse for 27 years and throughout that time I have experienced both positive and negative experiences as both an employee and as a patient.

Today

I was proud of RHH rapid access urology appointment. The appointment was for my 81 year old father. His appointment was 12 days after visiting his GP. The appointment was today on a Saturday 23 rd December.

We saw the Consultant exactly at our appointment time, and 30 minutes later we were having a coffee in the cafe. We had been greeted by a friendly receptionist , smiley nursing staff and wonderful Consultant . The Consultant immediately put my father at ease and was very friendly and informative. He has arranged an urgent CT scan, urine cytology, and urgent flexible cytology. At no point did we feel rushed.

First class service. Well done urology department and outpatients. Thank you.

Being a nurse yourself, you’ll be aware of the pressure placed on NHS Staff at times which makes your comments all the more satisfying to read.
