I attended EPAS at Wishaw General Hospital this year for early pregnancy care. I had a suspected ectopic pregnancy and required to have scans and blood tests. The vast majority of the care I received was very good and the staff were all helpful and knowledgeable; I felt supported in making the right decisions regarding my condition.
My criticism of the service concerns having scans carried out and the lack of dignity and privacy I was shown during these procedures. I was asked to undress for these procedures while the staff were in the room setting up the equipment for the scan. I was really uncomfortable doing this particularly when I had started to bleed. I would've preferred to have had the opportunity to undress and dress again privately. I also felt the rooms lacked proper facilities to wash and hygienically change pads. I know the staff are used to this and it probably doesn't bother them but I felt vulnerable and embarrassed.
