In January our son was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. We were taken under the care of the dcn at the western general hospital. He was scanned and diagnosed within 24 hours of his admission. After minor surgery he was transferred to the teenage cancer trust and commenced chemotherapy. Then after 3 cycles he had debulking of the tumour followed by another round of chemotherapy and then 6 weeks of radiotherapy. We felt safe and well cared for by everyone in the western.
We are so grateful to everyone, to dr people’s dr erridge and all the oncology team. All the staff of ward 3. Also many thanks to mr solkol for his delicate surgery.
Then a big thanks to pat of CLIC Sargent, the TCT, and all at Maggies. Fiona who has helped us throughout it all. The nhs at it’s best. Also the cancer help line. Thankyou ❤️
Everyone was so helpful even the cleaning staff went to get him bacon rolls when he was on steroids.
