"Highly Unsatisfied"

About: Croydon University Hospital / Accident and emergency

I went into the thornton heath walk in centre little did i know it is combined with a&e. All i needed was antibiotics for tonsillitis. I assume that you can get this at any walk in centre when your GP is unavailable. NO. I had to go all the way to Purley just for a simple prescription. I am actually appalled for someone who has been a taxpayer for years, where is my money going? I never use doctors unless absolutely nessesary. I was unable to use my jaw and talk properly due to the tonsillitis and I was turned away. No wonder people opt for private healthcare and thats my next step. Also apparently they only treat wounds. Ok... as a person who is in the medical field I am disgusted.

Thank you for your feedback although I am unclear as to which of our services you are referring. The Urgent Care Centre and the Out of Hours GP service is located at Croydon University Hospital, so it would be helpful if you could confirm where you attended.

Please contact our PALS office and your concerns will be looked into.

Our PALS office may be contacted by telephone on 020 8401 3210 or by email at ch-tr.pals@nhs.net. The office is open during the week from 9am to 4:45pm.

Regards

Hilary Frayne
