I collapsed at home and was brought into ward 16 at Tameside general hospital then on to intensive care because my bowel was badly diseased and I had to have it taken out.
I was put on life support twice, and this was a worry for both my family and friends. The staff there were wonderful.
I was put on ward 16 again, ready to get better and to walk once again but it was so hard.
The nurses were wonderful, they have been patient with me, every time I was on the mend, something else would happen e.g high temperature, fluid on lungs, cough drains everywhere whenever I opened up. It was never ending but the nurses were always there for me, I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't been there. I was there for nearly 4 months. They all made it bearable.
As I was about to go into Shire Hill hospital, I had a mild heart attack and was put in for another week. Madness!
I go to Shire Hill tomorrow, I know it sounds stupid but I will miss everyone on this ward. I am a bit afraid to leave this security.
I am honoured to have met doctors that saw to me, I thank them but mostly to Mr Ben A Meda, I thank you for everything, especially my life.
"Thank you for everything, especially my life"
