"Praise for service by the NHS"

About: East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust Florence Nightingale Community Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Once again today I hear of complaints on the news broadcasts about the NHS and the service provided.

I have recently been rushed into Hospital at midnight on a saturday. The response by the first responders, Paramedics, and Ambulance service was fast, fantastic and reassuring to myself as a frightened patient and to my wife and grandchildren who were in attendance at the time.

I collapsed in staffordshire and was taken to the City Hospital in Derby at my families request as this was the nearest hospital to where I lived.

On arrival at the City Hospital just after Midnight I was promptly examined by Medical staff and doctors and it was suspected that I had had a Stroke.

During the day after various tests I was seen by a specialist who confirmed that the indications were that I had had a minor stroke and I was informed that tests had revield that I had suffered two minor strokes in the past. I was then cared for in the City Hospital.

I wish to place on record that the treatment and attention I received was of the highest quallity contrary to what I hear on the news broadcasts. In this area of Derbyshire we have excellant facilities and prompt attention by all medical departments from the general GP Doctors and surgeries to the specialists in our brand new City Hospital.

Please convey this praise to staff, doctors, medical staff as I feel they deserve to know that their efforts and services are very much appreciated.
