I had a dry blood test at my initial prescribing assessment which resulted in me being positive for Hep C. Nurses at STaRS did more blood tests and I was immediately referred to a Hep C specialist. I was seen by the specialist (Dr Maggs) at STaRS in his in-reach clinic and I started my treatment within 6 weeks of initial tests! 

I have now finished my treatment and couldn't be happier as the whole process was quick and very professionally dealt with. I am now cured of Hep C!!! Dr Maggs is a very caring Doctor and you can tell he is passionate about his work. Also the team at STaRS are incredible, we are extremely fortunate to have this service available. I think all these services should work closely with Hep C specialists to tackle the problem of BBVs amongst the using community.

Thanks for taking time to share your experience of our services. It is fantastic to hear that your Hep C treatment has been successful. It's also great to hear how you found staff and our partner, Doctor Magg's from Bucks Healthcare Trust. We are truly grateful and proud to have such a wonderful partnership that is having such a positive impact on people's health in Buckinghamshire. I will ensure all involved receive your feedback.

We started this approach as a pilot and now it has become part of our practice and our aim is to support all service users to get tested and treated, we are passionate about educating and supporting those impacted by BBVs. If you are interested check out our work in our sister agency Inclusion Hampshire, they too have an amazing innovate service, including a BBV testing bus and an excellent peer programme reaching out to those in rural communities. Our moto is where there is a need we will find a way!

I hope you are accessing all the support you need for your own recovery journey with all the groups and support that is available within One Recovery Bucks, remember we also have fellowships meeting running in our hubs.
