"The staff were incredible, a real asset..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

What I liked

I went into St Mary's for day surgery, although initially there was not a bed available upon a arrival due to an early monday morning back log the staff did everything possible to ensure that one was available once I had my surgery. I cannot thank the staff enough, i was meant to be discharged the same day but they decided to keep me in over night for observation. They could not do enough for me, the surgeons explained what was going to happen the whole time and kept me up to date throughout my stay. The nurses where amazing and i can not praise them enough - they are a real asset to the NHS. They were kind, friendly and made me feel comfortable. They made sure that i was well and able to get home before discharging me and were in no rush to get me out to free up a bed. Their number one priority was my well being. People are so quick to complain about the NHS but i don't think they realise they what a tough job they have. Although it is not the most modern and hi tech hospital i have been to, the essential areas are outstanding and they were obviously doing improvements throughout to improve it further. I cannot thank the staff enough and would highly reccomend the hospital.SurgeryDay SurgeryNursing staffSurgeons
