It has been the second time we have waited 5 and respectively 10 h on a chair next to my ill daughter in the children assessment unit without being asked if we need some water or food. My daughter (3 years old) hasn't been offered any breakfast either after spending the night in hospital. We had to go and chase it up and we were eventually given toast and tea. I wonder, if it was just me and my disabled daughter and no one else with me, would we just have to go through starvation and dehydration? I am poorly myself so I asked if there was any more comfy chair or sofa but the answer came very prompt: 'There is nothing'. I went around myself and discovered the parents' room, thank god! Very disappointing.
Also, when your child is taken by ambulance your last thought is to pack food and drinks. Is the hospital trying to save on these as well?
"a cup of tea after 10 h of sitting on a chair?"
