"Lack of information to the patient who left."

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital / General surgery

I was refered to the SAU for problem ongoing with Ulcerative Colitis and retention of fluid in bowel. After 7.5 hours and a CT scan plus blood tests they stated that they would admit me and drain the fuild the following day, so nil by mouth from that evening. The following day apart from a visit fro a Dr who I had never seen before all they did was state the possible outcomes.

I tried on various occasions to find out when the procedure would be carried out, and although the nurses were excellent they could not find out anything. A whole day passed so obviously nothing was going to be done, they at midday said as I needed a consent from a Dr would attend me,after 4 to 5 hours not a sign of a Dr to sort out the basics, after getting extremely stressed out as no information was forth coming I decide enough was enough and to leave the hospital, they asked me to sign a form re this I refused as no medical advise was forthcoming. As I was suppsed to be on anti-biotics no offer of medicationwas forth coming. They were only concerned about trying to get this form signed. What a joke to allow a patient to be put in the situation of needing to leave unmedicated etc. PC correctiveness a joke.

I will be contacting the consultants on Monday to complain bitterly about the lies I was told by one of their Doctors. The nurses were excellent and I would never hold them responsible for the faults of the doctors up the ladder and management who seems all they want is a good review?? And not bothered about the patients
