"Surgery & In-patient stay at Short Stay Unit"

I underwent laparoscopic hysterectomy and bilateral oophorectomy at the Circle. Although the administrative process prior to admission was a little muddled the experience from admission on the day of surgery was faultless.

There was good information provided at each stage and staff were professional, courteous and attentive throughout.

The Short Stay Unit is well appointed and immaculately clean.

My only observations relate to catering:

1. There is no catering provided on a Sunday which means

A) there was extremely limited choice; and

B) nursing staff were having to be involved with meal orders and (I think) preparation.

2. Although the kitchen had been advised in advance of my dietary requirements (vegan) and I understood a vegan diet could be catered for, this did not turn out to be the case.

Overall though the sort of care and service all hospitals should aspire to.
