I visited beckenham beacon yesterday because i have a very painful groin where my lymph node has become very angry and swollen.
I was told i have sciatica.
I don't have sciatica.
Im no doctor, but let me tell you... i really do not have sciatica.
I was advised to have physiotherapy.
I told the doctor that it was only my groin that is incredibly painful, and after an examination is was decided i probably don't have sciatica.
I have a history of lymph cancer in my family but i was prescribed codeine and Naproxen and sent on my way.
No blood tests or anything?
When i got home and looked at my Naproxen prescription, the doctor has written on the pack that i should take 11 tablets initially.
11 Tablets!! Again, i'm no doctor but that sounds like a lot of tablets.
So i went over to my pharmacy over the road and asked for their opinion and they said that this was absolutely wrong and the max amount of tablets for initial dosage was 4.
What would happen if i took 11 tablets?
I mean... thats quite worrying if wrong prescription dosages are being handed out.
To be honest i just feel like my trip was a waste of time and i'm going to pay for a private doctor.
I feel like i was just a number and not taken remotely seriously.
I generally think the NHS do a fantastic job and i don't like to complain.
I can't imagine what it must be like to be so overstretched.
But what if something has been missed because the GPs are switched off.
"Disappointed"
