I moved to a new area and after 4 weeks registered with a new GP. I applied online for my repeat prescription of medication and my second repeat prescription for one item was rejected. I contacted the GP surgery advising them I needed the medication and was taking more than prescribed on the advice of two specialists and that my previous GP for more than 30 years had always provided me with this medication even though I was taking more than two tablets daily than prescribed. I was currently taking 4 tablets per day and had been known to take up to 8 tablets daily when my health problem was very serious.
I was told by the new GP's receptionist I could only be prescribed 2 tablets daily and regardless of anything I said she was very rude, abrupt and adamant. I was quite sure my health problem would not be able to cope with only taking two tablets per day but I thought I would at least try and after taking two tablets daily within 48 hours I needed the emergency services who were very supportive and helpful and assisted me to take the two tablets I'd missed which had caused me to have severe breathing difficulties. T
The next day I contacted the surgery and asked for an appointment but was told the waiting list was more than 4 weeks and I would be put on the cancellation list. I received a telephone call later that day from the receptionist advising even though I had needed emergency services earlier I would still not be prescribed anymore than 2 tablets daily. She was far from sympathetic, helpful or in the least bit concerned as to what I was telling her. I was so upset, because this person was being so offensive, rude and uncaring.
