I recently developed an eye problem and was quickly referred to a consultant. i received an appointment quickly.
The consultant explained everything clearly and offered a variety of ways to solve the problem. They were extremely professional and cheerful, making a difficult issue seem much simpler.I was told I needed surgery and was given an appointment for admission within six weeks.I was very apprehensive but was given reassurance through all stages.
The ward staff were phenomenal. They recognised that i was very nervous and explained procedures carefully. My named nurse checked on me frequently and accompanied me to the theatre, after surgery they collected me and returned me to the ward. Their cheerful disposition certainly made me feel a lot more confident about the procedure.
I had to stay in overnight and was really well treated and constantly checked to make sure I was alright - I would certainly rate it as five star treatment!
A senior nurse checked my eye early the next morning before I was seen by the consultant themself. I was then discharged.
Follow up appointments have all continued with the high level of care.
The eye infirmary is certainly a five star establishment.
