My dad was on Ward 20 for several weeks after being admitted with severe confusion. I cannot praise the care he got while on that ward. Even my dad was happy on the ward and could not praise the nurses highly enough.
He made friends with other patients and was actually reluctant to leave as he felt safe. He had one concern regarding his privacy and when I spoke to the nurse in charge it was dealt with immediately.
My experience with the team that cared for my dad was very positive. They always had time to chat about dad and how he had been and also took everything on board that you spoke to them about.
They respected him, his privacy and dignity, encouraged his independence and allowed him choices at all times.
My dad is now in a residential home and continues to talk about his time on Ward 20 with affection
Thank you all
