Following my mother’s emergency admission for an assessment and then a bowel operation I felt I should share how wonderful the staff were at Dorchester hospital. My mother was in three different wards/ departments during her stay at the hospital. She was treated with respect and dignity on each ward and everyone she came in contact with were wonderful to her and reassuring. I noted how well the health care assistants had been trained and they were also patient friendly and kind. Every time I telephoned to check on my mother’s progress I was able to talk to someone who had up to date information and was able to provide me with all the information I needed. The food was very good and this gave my mum something to look forward to. We chose Dorchester hospital due to unpleasant experiences at an alternative hospital which was actually nearer to home. I am so glad we decided on Dorchester, it was well worth the extra travelling to know mum was in safe, capable hands. Thank you everyone in Dorchester hospital, you are a credit to NHS!
