"Wonderful service"

About: Southmead Hospital

I had some tests today and thankfully I am still healthy. I was greatly impressed with the service and it was a timely reminder of the importance of our NHS.

The staff were lovely and every stage was explained clearly.

My only concern is that the doctor was quite curt at the end: since I was healthy, the curtness implied I had wasted time and resources. It is a pity I was left feeling that way, particularly since we are all encouraged to report any changes we notice and my GP referred me for the tests, especially because of my family history of breast cancer.

This did not distract from the excellent quality of the service.

Thank you for your positive feedback relating to your experience of the Breast Cancer Services.

I am sorry that the doctor you saw at the end came across as curt, and implied that you had wasted time and resources.

Clearly, this is not the impression that we would want any of our patients to have received.

I'm pleased to hear that the outcome for you was that you are healthy.
