What I liked
The caring and considerate attitudes of all the staff i encountered on my visit. The dentist who worked on my mouth was exceptional in their manner and professional capacity from the moment i met them to the end of my treatment. I was so nervous before my treatment that i considered doing a runner (at least 3 times ) whilst waiting to be seen. The gentle and calming manner of my dentist managed to get me into the room to begin with (which was a big thing for me). There was a problem with finding a suitable vein for my intrvenous drip (i was cold) but all the staff remained positive and appeared not to be frustrated at all by the situaion (even though i was the last patient on a friday evening), The dentist's jokey and friendly manner helped to relax me whilst this was going on. I don't really remember much about the procedure (thankfully) but i do know that i had no problems with the area that my tooth had been extracted from after surgey (i only needed 1 dose of pain killers) and that my gum healed nicely and quickly as a result of a very professional job.
What could be improved
The general appearance of the waiting area. It was clean but a bit dated and well used. The waiting time was a bit long, i was booked in for 2.30 but didnt get seen untill 4pm. I don't mind any of these things though if the money is being spent on providing students with top class training instead of being put into public areas, which i think is the case here.
Anything else?
As a result of my treatment at the dental hospital I would say my dentist phobia (15 years of it) has been pretty much cured. I dont think i will lose sleep or be nervous about returning for my next set of treatment which will be within 6 months.Waiting timesDental treatmentPhobiasAttitudeConsiderateNervousTemperatureDentistsCleanlinessWaiting Areas
