"A & E terrible experience"

About: Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

I was taken by ambulance after a fall with terrible injury to my nose, arm, knee and just above

right eye. My nose would not stop bleeding. I was kept in the waiting area for nearly five hours. Apart for the doctor coming to tell me that I am going to have X-ray and then CT scan.

Later doctor came to put a sling 0n my arm as I have a fracture.

Not one nurse came to see if I was ok. My nose kept on bleeding non stop but I was not given any tissues or anything, I had to get them myself. Only bit of dressing I had on top of the nose was done in the ambulance. I wasn't even asked if I needed even just a drink of water, all the time I was kept waiting. I was finally given a cubicle about 3am. I desperately

needed a drink so I had to get it myself. I hadn't eaten anything since light lunch the day before and I was feeling bit dizzy as well.

I asked if it was possible to get something to eat, I was told yes but by the time I got something was near 6am.

When I was discharged I was not given any discharge note or any pain killers.

I was referred to Northwick Park hospital to Max Fax clinic and I am still waiting after a month for an appointment. It was meant to be urgent.

There was a time when people would be admitted to hospital for cases like these but now you are just kept waiting in waiting room.

I pray I never have to go to A & E again. A very bad experience.
