"Absolute gem"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

My wife was recommended to come in to the ABC ward for a check up on Sunday night.

We were met by a midwife/nurse?, who is an absolute credit to the profession. This member of staff was warm, friendly and an absolute professional.

There was another midwife/nurse looking after my wife as well and, again was an absolute professional, they were coming to the end of their shift but was still running strong.

In a time where the NHS is criticised for waiting times and service levels and budgeting and everything else under the sun, I think that the little personal levels of attention get missed.

I guess that people only get thanked in passing, if at all, so I wanted to pass on a little personal thanks and to say that you truly do make a difference.

I hope this message will find it's way to them.

Thanks for all you do!

John

Thank you John, it will mean a lot to staff that you took the time to send in your message of thanks. It would be lovely to be able to share this directly with the staff who cared for your wife. If you would be happy to do so, can you contact our patient experience team with further details so we can find out who the members of staff were and share your thanks with them? They are on 0115 924 9924 ext. 66623 or QMCPET@nuh.nhs.uk.

My best wishes to you and your wife,

Gemma Herbert.

Maternity Matron, QMC.
