"Meds not prescribed after ordering..."

About: Grenoside Surgery

Once again prescriptions ordered and not done..have now run out of medication..rang surgery to find some of ordered meds not ordered for me and husband..am told doctor can do them and to collect them sometime after two..arrive at surgery after two...surgery is now shut no meds at chemist we cannot do anything as surgery is now shut and not taking calls...we have run out of meds until I can run around again tomorrow trying to see or speak to someone at the surgery..mine are painkillers which give me slight relief ..it's better than no relief at all..also having to cease taking them so abruptly has sent the pain I get to a higher plain than ever..I have no relief now till God knows when..my husband's statins and gastric meds might not be a great loss but to him having anxiety off the scale means he will have to wait again for acid reflux to be controlled which can be quite painful..especially in the night.this is happening too often now..I've lost count how many times we have to order meds before we eventually get them...numerous trails to chemist in a week..same with trails to surgery to try and find missing prescriptions...whilst I'm a big believer in exercise..I would like to choose when and where.it's impossible to go anywhere as chasing meds becomes an all consuming affair that lasts all week...it makes me ill ...why bother if it's going to be so hard to get a prescription filled out and ready at the chemist to pick up...I've spoken to other folk who are going through same ..what the hell is one to do to get them when ordered...it's a ridiculous scheme that this surgery quite plainly cannot handle..I've been with this surgery for over forty year and it is now the worse it's ever been..I've now to suffer through today and all night in agony because someone there is not fit to be trusted to do their job correctly..tomorrow will be a day of battle and pain I'm so damned sick of this happening and feel I should be explaining this to a higher body...perhaps that will have to be my next step..if I get the time as after chasing meds up again!!!!!!!

The surgery apologises if it did not deliver the service that we ourselves expect.

This was looked into at the time and resolved very quickly and I was surprised that such a long and critical comment was then posted.

There is a set and agreed process staff follow when noting down prescription requests which then do need to be signed - manually or electronically - by a GP.

The implementation of EPS (Electronic Prescription Service) is a sign of the technology of today but the processing can take as long to be delivered over the net as the previous manual process.

I can again only apologise for this apparent delay.
