"Thank you for my son's life."

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as a relative),

My 43 year old son was admitted to the RD&E on Sunday 30th of January suffering a major heart attack. The ambulance crew who drove him from Barnstaple were marvellous, he tells me, explaining everything to him as they helped him with the pain. On arrival at the hospital , staff were on standby and he was rushed to theatre where a stent was inserted to repair a collapsed artery, the cause of the attack.

In l983 my husband died of a massive heart attack at the age of 45 so I am sure you will appreciate how grateful I am to everyone concerned with my son's case. The NHS is too often given bad publicity by people looking for a scape goat but I cannot praise enough the dedicated Doctors and staff who work in our hospitals.

Thank you so much for giving my son a second chance and I hope he can now see his l3week old daughter grow up.
