I took my 11 month old daughter to the out of hours service this evening following a 111 call. This is the first time I have visited this medical centre, having only used the Wesbourne centre out of hours previously. I was extremely disappointed with the level of care offered. Wait times were long, which is to be expected. However this was very frustrating when one of the doctors was sat in the treatment room making a personal video call rather than seeing patients. We visited as my daughter has had a high temperature, chesty cough and ear infection for 4 weeks which has worsened. After a 2 hour wait, the doctor was extremely dismissive, didn't check her ears or throat, didn't ask how she was eating or drinking and didn't ask about nappy output. All these points are in my opinion vital when it comes to a baby. This could have a very serious outcome of a baby was seriously ill. I will not be using the service again.
