I arrived at A&E with a broken wrist after a fall. I have been lucky enough never to need A&E myself before but having seen some of the horror stories in the news over the past few winters, expected the worst.
I’m delighted to say that my experience could not have been more different and from start to finish, the kindness, care and consideration of everyone I met was outstanding. I needed 3 lots of x-rays and 2 sessions of manipulation & plasters and when the results were not as the Registrars had hoped, I also saw an Orthopaedic Registar & even the Consultant, who arranged a CT scan of my wrist before I left, so that they could review the results to decide a plan for surgery.
I know some of the names but not all unfortunately so won’t mention any individual because collectively from the thoughtful (male) Triage Nurse to the 2 lovely EPNs to the brilliant 2 Registrars and the kind lady who had to plaster my arm twice, plus the 3 really kind x-ray staff and the thoughtful Orthopaedic Registrar who arranged for me to see the Consultant...thank you all for being so absolutely amazing & making me really feel so well cared for.
"Absolutely amazing"
