"Very bad experience"

About: Barnet Hospital

I had an appointment with the ENT consultant on 28th November. I got this appointment after being unwell for 3 months with post nasal drips, infection and blocked nose. At the appointment the consultant couldn't push the camera inside my nose because it was painful and blocked. They said that they would refer me for a CT scan urgently. After two weeks I got a letter that the consultant has discharged me because they couldn't see any problem. I went to a private consultant who managed to push the camera inside my nose and immediately diagnosed mucus and infection and blocked nose. The consultant prescribed antibiotics and made appointment for CT scan. I can't understand how the first consultant could discharge me. They even said that I should go to AE. When I went to A&E I was humiliated. They said " don't you understand what emergency means" Now I have to spent several thousand ponds for my treatment.

We pay our taxes to have aches to free medical treatment and pay these doctors salaries. Absolutely disgraceful.

Dear R M

Thank you for taking time to leave a review on your experience of ENT at Barnet; what you describe falls short of what we expect for patients and I am sorry for the manner in which your care has been dealt with.

It is not right that patients feel humiliated for attending A&E and we should have been more focussed on your reason for admission.

The feedback you have left will help us learn as a hospital so we can do better.

Kind Regards

Richard
