Son had had surgery for an abscess in a sensitive area on Tuesday and dressings need changing daily but our own GP's nurse had no slots yesterday (Thursday 7 Dec) so booked us in with a 'hub' surgery at Noak Bridge who subsequently cancelled his appointment. Told to dial 111 who were very helpful and organised for son to go to the Minor Injuries Unit at Orsett. Arrived at 11:15 - reception staff had him on their computer and within two minutes he was called in to have dressings changed. Amazing service. Also offered to see son on Sunday and any other occasion GP or Noak Bridge could not assist. And to top it all, because of such speedy service, I got to the car park payment machine to be charged - nothing - as in and out in under 30 minutes! So thank you to everyone in the team at MIU Orsett. Very well done. DRS.
