My appointment was at 08.15 today December 7th for a endoscopy.
I was treated with dignity and respect by all staff members I encountered.
I write to particularly praise the nurse who helped me during the procedure. I declined sedation. The nurse and doctor explained what was to happen. I was nervous, the nurse physically calmed me by holding me and stroking my cheek whilst offering encouragement and comfort during the procedure. I do not know what protocol dictates these days regarding physical contact but to me it was wonderful. I felt like a human being.
The doctor was approachable and caring.
I am a 63 year old woman.
Well done.
"Old fashioned nursing care."
