"Thank you to the IBD team"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Gastroenterology

(as a parent/guardian),

My 15 year  old son was diagnosed with Severe Ulcerative Colitis in May 16. His care was transferred to the children’s hospital where we came under the care of the three IBD nurses who have guided us through the last 18months. I cannot thank these 3 girls enough for the invaluable help , guidance and reassurance they gave to me and my son. They have made what was  a very difficult period in our lives so much easier. Their e.mail service is invaluable and I have always received a quick response from the girls to any queries that I may have had.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the hardworking staff of 1C who took such great care of my son at his infusions even to the point of inserting his cannula in his non dominant hand to allow him to do his home work during the infusion.

His consultant kept us fully informed and provided us with all the treatment options.

We were always made  aware  of what the next stage in his treatment would be.

My son is now in clinical remission thanks to the aforementioned hardworking team to whom we are extremely grateful.

Dear Cindi16

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on Care Opinion.

It is clear that your son has had such a lot to deal with over the last 18 months, however, it is great to hear that he is in remission and doing much better now.

All our teams work very hard to provide the high standards of care that you experienced with your son and they will be delighted to hear of the difference this has made to you all. Your feedback highlights the importance of patient focused compassionate care and excellent communications from our committed and hard working colleagues. Our General Manager will be delighted to share your feedback directly with the IBD team and the staff in ward 1C.

I hope your son continues to keep well

Best wishes

Pam
