"Excellent Care"

About: Wycombe Hospital / Cardiology

My GP was concerned that the chest pains I had indicated a serious heart condition and telephoned this hospital to say I was on the way.

I arrived early evening on a Friday and was seen within a few minutes. I was attended by 2 nurses who set up monitoring instruments, took a blood sample and asked me many questions about life style, the chest pain etc.

I was then seen by a junior doctor who examined me and asked more questions. Then taken for an X ray of my heart and lungs. After 4 hours of continual monitoring I was seen by a senior doctor who asked me more questions and then advised me that my heart was working fine and that I had Acid Reflux. They prescribed and gave me medication and sent me home very happy.

The staff are very professional and caring.

This is a really good hospital if you have a chest pain !!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding your visit to the Emergency Cadiac Receiving Unit at Wycombe Hospital.

It is reassuring to learn that you were seen within a few minutes of arrival at the unit by 2 nurses, and the staff who cared for you while you were in the department were very professional and caring.

This would have been a very worrying time for you and it is pleasing to read that, after 4 hours of continuous monitoring, you were advised by a senior doctor that your heart was working fine, and you were discharged home.

Thank you for recommending Wycombe Hospital as a really good hospital to go to if you have a chest pain. Your lovely words of praise will be shared with the department staff for recognition and encouragement.
