I have been a patient in King's Georges a few months ago. I waited few hours to be seen without painkillers and stayed over night. I was sent for unnecesary X-ray despite notices on the wall that in my case X-ray sould not be done. Than I saw rather rude doctor who openly admited they were too busy to assess me and did not sort out my pain. I was promised to see a doctor during the night and review of analgesia and this never happened. Nurse was telling me that doctors were busy and she was not able to give me any analgesia. In the morning they were very quick to discharge me without review and analgesia, so I left very dissapointed and sufered at home for next few days.

Today I had to take my baby to A&E as suggested by out of hours GP. Again I spent 3 hours waiting to be seen amongst approx. 40 others with their little babies crying on their laps. The most ridicules it appear preassessment system. There is a doctor sitting behing a window at the reception and he/she meant to 'assess' everyone first. Well, this assessments were not really done properly, because he was not able to see my son from behind a desk in a pram (did not even looked), I was asked to say what was wrong and than ask to join another que to the receptionist. During my 3 hour waiting I was able to observe these doctors sitting there, waiting for clients, doing receptionist job, without even doing it properly, while we were all waiting. All they were doing they were directing everyone to the receptionist to get registered. I think this Pre-assessment doctor role is very unproductive and huge waste of resources, and we, taxpayers are paying for it. Staff Nurse would do just as good job if not better if given appropriate space. Haw can you assess the patient through the window without seeing them? I raised it with a doctor and, as expected, I was told that they are doing what they have been told by hospital managers. No wondered NHS is in crisis - bad management!PainkillersOpening hoursRudeReceptionX-rayBabiesOut of hoursX-rayDoctorsNursing staffReception staffWaiting timesAttitudeEmergencyWaiting AreasComplaints
