What I liked
The care of the Paramedics from the moment I was mugged to the delivery to A&E.
What could be improved
The attitude of the A&E staff. One particular senior nurse was extremely rude. I complained to the Senior Registrar at the A&E department, and his excuse was they were busy. After being mugged and had a big shock, I expect to be treated with dignity and respect. I left the hospital feeling very upset. Not what I expected.
I suffered unconsciousness, after a severe head injury. At no stage did the doctors give me an X-Ray to check that there was no other injuries. During my time there, a doctor saw me once. A nurse came once to check my obs. In that time I do not feel that I was monitored properly. I was not attached to any device to check that I was ok. In such time with a trauma related shock I could have died. Who would be there to check this? Then after about 3 Hours a was discharged. With no thought given to my next of kin being contacted, or how I am expected to get home with a head injury and cut trousers. hey did not seem to care. This was on the 22/1/2011 between 11pm and 1am.
Anything else?
