"Fantastic midwife"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Maternity care

It's a shame I can't say who the midwife that delivered my daughter was because they were absolutely amazing and deserve every bit of praise, I was very apprehensive about giving birth after a previous caesarean, I was first down on m2 after my waters went at 9pm at home, the nurse dealt with me had to be a little harsh as I was not coping too well, they gave me diamorphine which helped me no end and progressed my labour lovely they then took us up to labour ward and like I said I had an amazing midwife, encouraged, supported and was extremely helpful throughout, I wasn't too impressed when I had gas and air taken off me but it was best for my baby, I can never thank the staff enough for making my VBAC a total success, and my consultant for suggesting a VBAC as I was convinced I was going to have to have a caesarean. Thank you

First of all congratulations on the birth of your daughter! I am so pleased to read you had such a positive experience during your labour and felt so supported by your midwife, and you were able to have a VBAC birth, avoiding a caesarean.

I will pass your comments on to the staff on the ward, they will be delighted to read how much their encouragement and support meant to you.
