"Unexpected Positive Experience at Fazakerely"

About: University Hospital Aintree / Upper gastrointestinal sugery

(as the patient),

I was recently referred to Fazakerely Hospital for a Gastroscopy. The referral process itself was very impressive as it was done under the GP referral scheme and I was seen within 10 days of the initial referral. I was dreading undertaking the gastroscopy as I am not good with this kind of procedure. However, from the first contact at reception, the initial interview and the procedure itself, the staff were absolutely wonderful. They put me at ease, were very informative, professional and friendly. What was filling me with dread turned out not to be as bad as I thought it was going to be. Whilst I wouldn't be rushing to volunteer for a repeat performance, my follow-up won't be as fearful. Too often all we hear is the bad press, so a big thank you to the whole team at the Endoscopy Unit.
