My 84 year old mum was admitted with a kidney stone, infection and possible blood clot, we explained that she is disabled she lives on her own, has no carers, the hospitals promised us she would have an assessment before she was discharged. We got a phone call yesterday to say she was medically fit to be sent home, again we said no help was there for her, and the earliest one of her family could be there was 3 pm they said that was fine and transport would bring her home around 4ish. We got there waited ,rang they said they were waiting for transport etc, we kept waiting and getting same answer. We eventually went up to get her ourselves to find that she was the only one left, she had been sitting for about 5 hours in discharge lounge watching other people coming in and being taken home, and apparently some one had cancelled the transport but no one seems to know who. Also one of her grandsons went up to visit her and w as told she had been discharged but she was still on the ward at that time. Disgusting oh and the social service department within the hospital was not told anything about her Unbelievable and still has infection and kidney stone !
"Disgusted that an 84 year old was treated this way"
