"Good colposcopy experience"

Today I had a colposcopy and my experience was excellent from start to finish with the consultant, who was right on time and began the consultation introducing me to themself and the nursing staff supporting them. They then asks me about the difficulties I had been having and listened to answers patiently and attentively. It is so easy for medical practitioners to make patients feel rushed and dismissed and the consultant and the nursing staff did not make me feel like that at all.

During the procedure the consultant was extremely professional detailing exactly what they were doing every step of the way. They were not phased at all but me crying throughout for no apparent reason whatsoever (I have health anxiety). Rather they continuously reassured me.

I would recommend anyone to come here and see the consultant for this procedure. It is very nerve racking but both they and the nursing staff put me entirely at ease. The consultant is a rare diamond in a burnt out NHS. Please keep hold of them Macclesfield!
