"I was afraid of Hospital"

About: Scarborough General Hospital

The last time I staid overnight in hospital was 73 years ago and I'm 73..Yes my birth!

I have only really been in hospital since and that was 1964 with a broken arm after a bus crash, that experience in Sheffield did not give me great confidence.

On the very and I mean very few occasions I have seen a doctor...the last time was about 5 years ago I have rarely felt assured with confidence.

However after requiring an ambulance for asthma and very high blood pressure the professional superb attention I received from the emergency services and Scarborough hospital was awe inspiring.

The care I received was second to none and I would like to thank everyone who helped me, how anyone could criticize any of these people for the work that they do I cannot understand.

Everyone worked so hard with dedication and care at all times.

My confidence in doctors and hospitals has changed so much over the past two days. I'm home now and missing the hospital!

A very big t thank you ambulance staff, paramedics and all the staff who I met at Scarborough Hospital.

Terry Edwards (Cherry ward and Chestnut ward )
