I’ve been struggling with mental health problems for a couple of years now, chronic depression and acute social anxiety. Although I’ve been on medication and in therapy for a number of years, I was still struggling to manage even day to day. My GP recommended I get in contact with local mental health support and referred me. They were very helpful.
They were able to offer lots of tailored local mental health support services, some of which I’ve signed up for and am on a waiting list to try. Also, I was able to talk to a psychiatrist who suggested that my current medications were not quite managing my anxiety as well as they were my depression, and she was able to suggest a slight change. One month later and I can confirm, she was quite right. I feel much more myself.
