After my emergency c-section I was left to fend for myself with no help from other my partner actually stayed out of hours because he was concerned I couldn’t even lift my own baby. As for them promoting breast is best! I am deeply upset that whenever I asked for help the solution was to just simply shove my babies head in the general direction and walk off with no advice nor encouragement except ‘just give a bottle for now’ I ended up giving up due to feeling too disheartened about the whole thing! The one thing that let it down most for me was one member of staff in particular who would appear and not speak a single word to me! Just grabbed what they wanted and carried on! On one occasion it was my arm for a bp reading with a cannular in the same hand which made me scream in agony! Another example of this member of staff was that I was struggling with feeding my baby and their solution was to just shove my baby's head towards my breast whilst she screamed and cried in distress until I took my own baby away from the member of staff in floods of tears telling them they were upsetting us and to leave us alone! I sat and cried for ages in that room whilst the lovely lady In the bed next to me reassured me I was doing a good job and to not let it get to me! Their final act of unacceptable behaviour was when I was being moved to another room in my bed due to not being able to walk they bashed the bed against every possible object they could and jolted me who had just had a classical Caesarian so was in severe pain, and what did they do? this member of staff smirked and said nothing! Other than that everyone else I encountered was lovely and I could not fault the care I received! Just that one person that has caused me so much upset.
