I was advised to go to the Minor Injuries Unit by a doctor at Fareham community hospital, I wasn't aware of this unit until this occasion.
I'd had an infected finger for nearly two weeks and had been prescribed antibiotics but my finger wasn't improving but getting more painful day by day.
After checking in with the pleasant receptionist at the unit I waited about an hour and was called in by a nurse who took full details.
The nurse/practitioner then examined my finger and arranged for me to have an X-ray which was completed in a timely and efficient manner by the radiographers.
This nurse/practitioner then treated my finger carefully and most efficiently, I had in fact a Paronychia, infection under the finger nail. This member of staff helped me so much, easing the pain massively and then arranged an appointment at QA plastics department for the following day for further treatment.
I am very grateful for the nursing skill, kindness, efficiency and reassurance I received in the Minor Injuries Unit on 1 December 2017.
Thank you.
